Fifty Cakes of Love

from $45.00

This marvelous mural, titled 50 Cakes of Gay, was created in 2014 by street artist Kashink and is part of an international project where she painted over 300 murals of same-sex marriage cakes in nine different countries. The colorful murals are meant to spread a positive image of same-sex marriage. The one she made in Montreal, located at the heart of the Gay Village, contains 30 cakes in honor of the 30th anniversary of the LGBTQ+ magazine Fugues. Strolling around in The Village, you can feel one of Montreal’s most vibrant, open, and inclusive neighborhoods both day and night. Capturing a young couple walking hand in hand and spreading their love, made me happy knowing I live in a city where everyone can live their lives in freedom and security.

Originally painted with acrylic on a 16”x20” canva-paper, this is a fine art print, on an acid-free, very smooth, high-quality 210 gsm paper.
