Sigal is a Montreal-based artist, illustrator, and graphic designer.
After completing her Visual Communications program, she worked as a graphic designer and illustrator for almost two decades for various advertising agencies and graphic design studios. Throughout this long period, she created illustrations and designs using almost exclusively digital tools.
In 2018, during a family visit abroad for a few weeks, she suddenly found herself without her usual computer and tablet. With the usual “itch” to create but no way to express it, she stepped into a local art supplies shop, bought herself some paper and acrylic paint, and rediscovered the simplicity, beauty, and joy of painting on real paper, with real brushes and paint, just like she used to do when she got started.
Sigal’s evolution to creating artwork with real materials, combined with her digital experience as a graphic designer and illustrator, have allowed her to combine the “best of both worlds” – the real and digital ones – into beautiful and original works of art. The works presented on this website are the result of Sigal’s constant strive to explore the creation of visual art in new, evolving and original ways.
