Chit-Chat over the Rainbow
The plateau-Mont-Royal is recognized as one of the most vibrant, dynamic, and creative neighborhoods in Montreal, especially with regards to urban art, as can be seen in the many murals scattered throughout the neighborhood. The mural entitled Art Libre – Free Art was created by Italian artist Millo and is located on a high-visibility wall on Avenue Mont-Royal. The black and white tones of this poetic and childlike composition and the vivid color of the nearby ice cream shop building with rainbow graffiti make this corner a lively, colorful urban scene. One Saturday afternoon, walking on Avenue Mont-Royal, I saw these young women in the middle of a very lively and enthusiastic conversation. A perfect scene of people socializing in their natural urban environment.
