Promenade Fleuve-Montagne
Promenade Fleuve-Montagne, inaugurated in 2017 as part of Montreal’s 375th-anniversary festivities, is a pedestrian trail connecting some of Montreal’s most emblematic sites, from Mount Royal to the St. Lawrence River. This painting captures an autumn afternoon moment on the corner of Avenue Docteur Penfield and Rue McTavish, just next to McGill University campus, with the landscape of beautiful downtown Montreal in the background. Students and young people make their way from one place to another, which is a very typical scene for this calm-yet-bustling location.
